Look of the Day....80's Dress in The House!

Happy Friday,

Well, yesterday I had no problem deciding what to wear to my consulting gig. I have this 80s dress that is quite simply....SASSY! It is black w/ super wide shoulder pads, a peplum skirt, three buttons up the back, and fits my silhouette so well. With me not being such a great seamstress (I can't lie to ya') I shortened it and guess what...,it actually looks good! So, yes, I did show off a bit of leg today. I paired it with some red bakelite/catalin bangles, Seventies red leather belt, diamond studs, and my black gladiator sandals. Super easy look to put together that easily delivers a bang.

Before I sign off, I have added a picture of a friend of mine Amy Davis. She is an actress, illustrator, and musician among other things and she is....FIERCE! I hope to do an interview with her and share just how much of a dynamo she is! She came into the business where I consult with her Hubby Jon, and it made my day. So, enjoy the added bonus!

The Majestic Views from the Sandia Tram...

Happy Wednesday Luvs,
I am a sucker for mountains and clouds!

And we're off!
Special panda nails for baby Girl!

Well, Baby Girl and Boy have traveled to visit family for two weeks by themselves.  Kinda freakin' out because I have NEVER been away from them for that long. I had the kids with me for three weeks when I went to California to visit my side of the family, but this is the first time that both kids have gone anywhere without both us. Huge deal!!!  Hopefully, we can get a lot accomplished while they are away and be ready to take on our next adventure when they return.

My blog today is actually about the excursion that Baby Girl and I did on Monday. One of her last requests was to go up the Sandia Tram.  She was scheduled to go up with her school, but because it was too windy it was cancelled.  I have lots of pictures that show just how BEAUTIFUL and BREATHTAKING the views are while taking this amazing trip.

Pure Beauty...!

As far as the eye can see....
Lots of green!!!

Baby Girl LOVES her fossils...!

Does this cloud remind you of a certain spaceship?

The view outside the information center.
The tree on high...

You have to wait until these wheels stop completely BEFORE you can enter or exit the  cars.

The cool red staircase leading down to he chair lifts.

Gotta LUV ladybugs!

Good-bye....thanks for having us!
Just us...and our shadow...!

Because of all the pics, I have attached the link to their official site so that you may learn about this amazing ski peak and tram.http://sandiapeak.com/index.php?page=history-technology The height was insane but that made it all the more surreal.  Taking off I had a daughter who was attached around my waist, but after two minutes, she was commenting on just what a wonder it was and that she was glad that we came.

It was a great day, with my wonderful girl!

A Moment of Clarity....

Hello Again,

Today I had the experience of random acts of kindness. Though they were small, they were none the less profound.  I challenge you to be the person who reaches out their hand to make the day for another.  It doesn't take a lot (believe it or not). It just takes the willingness to look outside ourselves.  And I know that in the end, we are all SHINING examples of what is GOOD with the World!

Vintage Fashion as an Olympic Event?

Happy Saturday,

Just a quick question...if your favorite thing about vintage was an olympic event, and you were the olympian that would take gold, what would it be? It is a silly question but non the less fun to think about!  Thanks to Sammy Davis for putting it out there...!

The Trapeeze Dress....ala Twiggy!

Hello and Happy Friday,

Today's look was inspired by the iconic model Twiggy. Her stature helped to coin the term waif. She has always been an inspiration to me, and I know that she is for others. When I saw this dress...I HAD to have it! I picked it up from MrIdahosVintage on Etsy, and boy am I glad I did...!

Two Promos....ONE Location!

Hello and Happy Wednesday,

I wanted to drop a quick note about the promos that I will doing this month at my Etsy shop. They are really exciting ways to own a pair of amazing shoes, and also a way to give back.

The first is featuring all the designer shoes (Ferragamo and YSL among others!) that I carry at my shop (www.etsy.com/shop/katsmeoww). Throughout  the month of August, when you purchase a pair of shoes (or more, if it strikes your fancy) you will receive 25% off. The prices are already reduced on-site so there is nothing to figure out...!  This promotion is only for August, so make sure that you take advantage!

Front entrance to the shelter.
The second promo is even closer to my heart. Each month I will pick a local organization that will receive a portion of the shops sales. This month I have chosen a place that we have a history with. It is a local shelter that is a Non-Profit NO KILL organization. This wonderful place is the largest No-Kill shelter in New Mexico. It is located in Rio Rancho, and happens to be where we found our Bombay Velvet. She is amazing, and has been an awesome addition to the family. They came to have her because she was left at the front door of a pet shop with her kittens. At first, when we had her solely inside, she was quite frankly miserable. When we relocated to our current home we let her go outside and oh boy is she happy!
Our Velvet...!

I have chosen to donate 10% of the shops sales this month. The name of the shelter is Watermelon Mountain Ranch, and has been around for quite a long time. Here is the link (http://www.wmranch.org/) just in case you would like to find out all the different ways in which you can help. There is always something, whether it is your time and/or a monetary donation, either will help them tremendously. So, when you make a purchase at the shop I will donate 10% of your purchase price (minus shipping cost) to the shelter. At the end of the month I will let you know the total amount I will be donating. Visit the shop (www.etsy.com/shop/katsmeoww) to get the coupon code.

Well, there ya go! Exciting stuff!!! I hope that you will visit the shop and help me to make a difference for an organization that is ALREADY a champion for animal rights!
