My Passion for Wardrobing...!

Hello Luvs,

Well, I had a no show for a wardrobing appointment yesterday, and it made me upset at first.  Then, I remembered why I started doing it in the first place.  There are many reasons, and below are just a few.

Some of the VERA scarves that I have collected.
#1 There is NOTHING like the feeling of someone coming in and not seeing anything that they think will fit.  They insist on trying on things that have a so-so fit. I have found that a lot of people hold onto a body image that is no longer representative of what their bodies actually look like.  Instead of moving forward, they cling onto the vision of what they were in a particular decade. Don't get me wrong, I LOVES me some vintage and would prefer to wear vintage dresses everyday...even on SNOW DAYS! Yes,I said it, on SNOW DAYS. Anyhow, I always try to steer them toward a vintage item that works with their figure, and pair it with something that brings them into the here and now.  That way, when they get home, they can incorporate those items into what they currently own. Sometimes it becomes an aha moment where they see the fit difference.

#2 The look that I get when I tell a client they HAVE TO try on an item in which you can read on their face that they know it just won't work. Then they put it on, and SHAZAM they are asking....HOW DID YOU DO THAT??? It turns out that I know a little somethin somethin about fitting bodies, and can just see what will work.  It is a crazy gift that I am sure many others share. The joy on the client's face says it all, and there are few things that bring me greater joy than seeing someone TRULY comfortable in their own skin.

EVERY girl needs a few maxi dresses...!
#3 Occasions.....I have fitted many brides.  Some of them were mature brides, and this may or may not be their first wedding. I have had young ladies that want something less traditional and I pull out a J. Mendel that fits them like a glove. There are fashionistas that crave something vintage, and then I pull out a piece from the back and voila: it is the dress they have been looking for!  Last but not least, someone will want to find items or outfits for a theme party and/or costuming an event.  To be able to put together treasures that work makes me very happy, along with providing the challenge that I crave...!
LOVE beaded necklaces!!!

Well, those are a few of my reasons.  Probably the three at the top of my list as to why I enjoy wardrobing! If you ever need someone to take on your occasion and make it special, please reach out and we'll see what we can do!

Lots of different bags.
Til next time,
